Ukraine’s first innovative solar energy system SmartFlower was installed in Ternopil

In 2022, Ternopil hosted the official opening and presentation of the first innovative solar energy system in Ukraine, the Smartflower.

Underneath the elegant design of the structure (the installation looks like a huge sunflower) lies an extremely smart structure, fully integrated with intelligent features to combine efficiency and beauty in one product.

The green energy project was implemented thanks to cooperation of Energy Engineering Company LLC with the Austrian-American company Smart Flower Solar in the field of alternative energy.

During the opening ceremony, Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal emphasized that in such a difficult time as now, during the wartime, it is very important to ensure normal development of the country’s economy, so today, companies and investors who do not withdraw their capital abroad but create innovative products and invest here in Ukraine are of great value.

“At the same time, it is extremely important to introduce energy-saving technologies and alternative energy sources, because in recent years we have been living in an energy war with russia, and every year we face the issue of energy substitution and electricity generation from alternative sources. And now it is already a requirement of the present time, because thanks to such modern innovative technologies as Smart Flower, we are able to ensure energy independence from the russian aggressor, and this directly affects the issue of national security of Ukraine”, said Serhii Nadal. “Therefore, today I am thankful to Energy Engineering Company LLC for the implementation of this project. We will arrange similar installations not only in our municipalities or institutions, but will also meet as much as possible those entrepreneurs who wish to implement such projects”.

As explained by the developers, the SmartFlower installation uses advanced robotics and automation to intelligently track the sun, producing up to 40% more energy than traditional stationary solar panels. Additionally, the SmartFlower will automatically fold and clean itself at sunset each day to maximize solar energy utilization.

The nominal capacity of the solar system is 2.5 kW, so it is possible to receive from 4000 to 6200 kilowatts of energy per year, depending on the weather and climate. The Smart Flower has already become popular in Europe and the United States.

By the way, as part of the opening of the innovative solar energy System SmartFlower, presentation was also held on “Investments in alternative energy sources in Ternopil region”.
